CAA Insurance is expanding the availability of its pay-as-you-go auto insurance payment program to consumers in Atlantic Canada.
The CAA MyPace program is now available for Nova Scotia drivers, and will later roll out to other Maritime provinces – in New Brunswick on December 01, 2020 and on PEI on February 15, 2021.
“CAA MyPace has been generating a great deal of interest in the market, and we’re excited to offer this new program to the Maritime provinces,” said CAA Insurance president Matthew Turack. “Drivers now have access to an insurance option designed to meet the needs of their individual lifestyles and it puts choice and control back in their hands.”
A company release said that CAA MyPace is ideal for consumers who are driving less during the COVID-19 pandemic. It also helps those who typically leave their cars at home and take public transit during their daily commute, retirees who do not drive as often, and motorists who drive under 9,000 kilometres.
Drivers who enroll in an auto insurance policy with CAA may opt for the MyPace program. Once a driver signs into the program, a telematics device is installed in their vehicle, which allows the driver to track how much they are driving via mobile app or website. Participating drivers’ auto insurance premiums are also based on their tracked mileage, with a base rate and additional charges for every 1,000-kilometre increment.
