BFL CANADA has acquired Summit Insurance Brokers in Prince George, BC.
Founded in the late 1990s, Summit has been providing service to clients in Central and Northern British Columbia. The firm specializes in offering services to the forestry, logging contractors, agriculture, transportation and suppliers to the oil and gas and mining industries. Other clients of the business include small type or hobby farms and auto businesses.
Summit’s expertise in industrial, commercial and farm risks will be a great asset to BFL CANADA, a release said.
As part of the transaction, Summit Insurance Brokers president and CEO Hugh Delwo will be named managing vice-president of BFL CANADA’s Prince George office. Similarly, former Summit vice-president AL Delwo will be tasked to lead business development efforts for the region.

"We’re delighted to welcome the skilled and experienced Summit employees to the BFL CANADA family as this acquisition will provide us with a stronger presence in key Canadian growth sectors," said BFL CANADA president, CEO, and founder Barry F. Lorenzetti.
Lorenzetti added that he expects the economy in Central and Northern British Columbia to see “significant” growth in the next five years. He said the acquisition of Summit will allow BFL CANADA to better serve the region.
In March, BFL CANADA opened a new office in Quebec, which not only expands the company’s footprint in the province, but also serves as a centre for the insurer to develop its construction, real estate, and manufacturing expertise.
