Peter Janzen was appointed Vice President, National Mid-Market in April 2019.  In this role, Peter is responsible for financial performance, underwriting integrity and staff engagement for RSA Canada’s Commercial Mid-Market division - including the development and implementation of key strategies for operational improvement and the delivery of a strong broker experience.

Peter joined RSA Canada in 2012 from Northbridge Insurance in an underwriting capacity.  Over the subsequent nine years, Peter moved through various positions within the Commercial Insurance division spanning a variety of product lines (P&C, fleet/garage, construction, renewable energy, D&O) and in multiple capacities (Underwriting, Sales & Distribution, P&L Leadership).  Prior to his current appointment, Peter was Regional Vice President, Commercial Insurance Eastern Region, where he held P&L accountability across both Mid-Market and SME for Ontario and Atlantic Regions. In recent years, Peter’s focus has been on building an engaged and market-leading Commercial team to enable controlled growth with target broker partners.

Peter graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and also holds an FCIP and CRM Designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada.
