White Mountains Insurance Group, Ltd., a specialty property and casualty insurance and reinsurance provider, has announced the renewal of its reinsurance sidecar, Outrigger Re Ltd., effective Jan. 1.

The terms of the renewal remain consistent with the previous year, maintaining stability in its reinsurance operations. According to InvestingPro, Outrigger Re continues to provide collateralized reinsurance coverage for a segment of Ark Bermuda’s global property catastrophe portfolio.

The company said Outrigger Re has secured $230 million in investor capital for the 2025 calendar year. White Mountains has contributed $150 million, while the remaining $80 million comes from third-party investors, signaling strong confidence from external stakeholders in the venture.

InvestingPro noted that the renewal underscores White Mountains’ commitment to strategic investments in collateralized reinsurance, bolstering its financial performance and ensuring continuity in its risk management framework.

Based in Hanover, N.H., White Mountains manages a diversified insurance and reinsurance portfolio. The company reported a market capitalization of $4.8 billion and maintains a “GREAT” financial health score, according to InvestingPro’s analysis.
