PartnerRe, a global reinsurer headquartered in Bermuda, has appointed Turab Hussain as chief risk and actuarial officer, effective December 04.
Based in the insurer’s office in Stamford, Connecticut, Hussain will have executive responsibility for risk management, capital modelling, and reserving.
With more than 20 years’ experience in insurance and reinsurance, Hussain joins PartnerRe from Hartford Financial Services Group, where he had been chief insurance risk officer since 2014. He has held several senior actuarial and underwriting roles with Hartford Financial,
Arch Insurance Group, and American Reinsurance.
Hussain succeeds Marvin Pestcoe who will retire in 2018 after a transition period. Pestcoe joined PartnerRe in 2001 and held several positions in the firm, including CEO life & health, chief investment officer, and head of strategic ventures. He retired in 2014 but rejoined the company in 2015.
