Markel International has appointed Mark Nunn (pictured) as energy underwriter, based in its Singapore office.
Nunn will report to Christian Stobbs, managing director of Markel International in Asia, and will work closely with Markel’s global energy team to manage and further develop the specialist insurer’s energy portfolio for the Asia-Pacific region. He succeeds Tim Foister, who has returned to Markel’s London office as part of its energy team.
Prior to joining Markel, Nunn was an energy insurance specialist for over 10 years with Marsh, where he held various roles and worked with clients in the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors of the energy industry. He was most recently the energy sales leader in Asia and brings with him extensive global energy market experience.
“We are delighted to welcome Mark, whose strong energy market experience will bring great value to the team as we continue to embark on our underwriting expansion and growth ambitions,” said Stobbs.
“Mark’s appointment demonstrates Markel’s commitment as a long-standing energy specialist, to continuously innovate and improve its energy insurance solutions for clients in Asia, as well as the region’s wider marketplace – especially in the face of today’s rising demand for clean energy,” added Rohan Davies, divisional managing director of energy at Markel International.
