As part of its efforts to simplify Hong Kong clients’ claim processes,
Manulife has launched an online platform that cuts the submission process of medical claims down to three steps.
Via “claimsimple.hk”, the insurers’ customers will have direct access to a dedicated website available in English, traditional Chinese and simplified Chinese. It does not require any app to download and install.
“Now, customers with either individual or group medical policies can use claimsimple.hk as a single solution for both hospitalisation and outpatient claim submissions, which account for about 60-70% of the total outpatient and hospitalisation claims we receive every year,” said Guy Mills, CEO of Manulife Hong Kong.
The lapses in traditional, paper-based claim submission processes prompted the switch to digital. According to Manulife, paper-based processes can often lead to missing data, with the policy number being the most commonly forgotten piece of information.
“Failing to attach documents or making errors when writing numbers such as claim amounts and appointment dates, is also common. Many people also forget to submit claims for treatment received while travelling. These often can result in follow-up actions which delay the whole claim processing time,” it added.
