The Insurance Authority (IA) is holding its flagship Asian Insurance Forum (AIF) on December 7, 2021, with the theme of “Opportunities and Challenges in the Post-pandemic New Normal”.
AIF 2021, which is open to members of the insurance profession and the public to join virtually, will cover various contemporary topics such as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the dual circulation economic strategy, climate change and green finance, Fintech development, and the regulatory outlook.
Four packed panels will include financial regulators, C-suite executives, academic experts, venture capitalists and professional service providers.
“Our insurance industry has shown staunch commitment, remarkable resourcefulness and strong resilience in confronting COVID-19. It is an opportune moment for us to explore emerging prospects and get ready for challenges in the new normal,” said Mr Clement Cheung, CEO of the IA. “AIF 2021 provides an effective platform to share experiences in navigating through the torrents and build consensus on the way forward.”
The opening address will be delivered by Carrie Lam, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). Other keynote speakers include Paul Chan, financial secretary of the HKSAR, and Jonathan Dixon, secretary general of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors. Concluding remarks will come from Bernard Chan, convenor of Non-Official Members of the Executive Council.
