Chubb has appointed Edward Kopp (pictured) as country president for its general insurance business in South Korea.
Kopp succeeds Edward Ler, who took on the role of head of Southeast Asia. This is Kopp’s second time to hold this role, having previously held it from 2013 to 2018. He reports to Paul McNamee, Chubb’s regional president for Asia Pacific.
“Korea is strategically vital to our ambitions, particularly in the consumer business, and we are fortunate to have Ed return to lead our operations there during such an important phase in our expansion,” said McNamee in a statement.
Kopp joined Chubb in 2012 and has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, including expertise in distribution, product development, underwriting and channel management. He also has deep knowledge about the Korean insurance market. Earlier in his career, he worked for HSBC and Cigna in various Asian markets.
Chubb entered the South Korean market in 1968. It offers health and accident insurance for individual customers, and property, cargo, liability, and group accident insurance for commercial clients.
