Independent specialist re/insurance broker BMS Group has announced the appointment of Charlie Rozes (pictured above) as group CFO and executive director.
Rozes joins BMS from IG Group PLC, where he was group CFO and executive director and most recently served as acting CEO. He brings over 30 years of industry experience, including roles as group CFO and executive director at Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group, where he oversaw its acquisition by Marsh & McLennan.
Rozes began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, followed by senior executive roles at IBM, Bank of America, and Barclays.
Rozes’ appointment follows several recent additions to BMS’s executive team, including Emmanuel Clarke as chairman, Chris Brook as group chief operating officer, and Ali Trauttmansdorff as group chief people officer.
This leadership expansion also coincides with a period of significant growth for BMS, marked by investment from Eurazeo and 12 global acquisitions.
Based in London, Rozes will report to BMS Group CEO Nick Cook and will assume his role in November. Rozes succeeds Nick Moss, group finance director, who is retiring.
Cook stated that Rozes has extensive experience leading UK and international operations and has driven substantial growth for global and FTSE organizations.
“He has extensive experience leading UK and overseas operations and has successfully driven substantial growth for global and FTSE organizations. His experience will be crucial as BMS looks to continue its momentum, hit its growth ambitions, and further its reputation as the home of an innovative, collaborative and high-performance culture. I would also like to thank Nick Moss for his tremendous contribution to the company over the past five years. Nick has been a driving force behind the incredible growth in BMS and we all wish him well in his retirement,” Cook said.
In his new role, Rozes will collaborate with Cook and the executive leadership team to drive the group’s strategy, organic growth plans, and ambitious global M&A program. Rozes will join the BMS Group Holdings board and head M&A. He will also oversee strategic planning, risk management, and internal audit functions.
Rozes expressed enthusiasm about joining BMS.
“Nick and his team are exceptional, and this is reflected in the tremendous growth BMS has been able to achieve,” Rozes said. “The opportunity to return to the insurance industry means a great deal to me, especially given the opportunity to contribute to BMS at this exciting stage in its growth. I am thrilled to join the team and look forward to working with my new colleagues.”
