A jobless New Jersey man has admitted to faking an injury in a Walmart in order to get healthcare.

Thomas J. Campbell has been charged with insurance fraud and falsifying records after faking a fall in the Deptford, N.J., Walmart. He claimed to have slipped in a puddle, but an investigation by the prosecutor’s office and the National Insurance Crime Bureau found that he had walked through the puddle three times, then staged a fall the fourth time.

When interviewed by investigators, Campbell admitted that he faked the fall and subsequent injury because he is unemployed, and no longer had health insurance to pay for the treatment of a pre-existing back injury, according to a report by NJ.com.

Insurance fraud is a third-degree crime in New Jersey, and falsifying records is a fourth-degree crime, NJ.com reported.
Campbell is scheduled to make a court appearance in October.
