An army of six women will kick off Brightway’s expansion in four states as five female-helmed agencies open on May 15.

"Our agency owners are the face of our brand, so we're very selective in whom we choose to invest. With the backend support Brightway provides, they will become an excellent source for expert counsel and more choice as consumers look to protect their financial futures through proper insurance coverage," Brightway president Talman Howard said.

Sys-Con Media reported that Jenny McKenzie, Allison Chaumont, Mylynn Kwok, Alicia Katz, Jacqueline Howard and Robin White-Twiggs will simultaneously start operations next Monday across California, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Florida.

The California opening marks Brightway’s foray into the west coast with two agencies set to serve the market, the report also said. The firm is a privately held personal lines independent agency.

The synchronous opening of the five agencies is a first in company history, the report also said, as Howard said that the company is “enjoying unprecedented growth.”

Quoting the US Census Bureau, the report said that one in three businesses across the country is now owned by women. Brightway said that its women-owned agencies employ an average of four workers compared to the national average, where female-led enterprises have one worker.
