Global insurance brokerage Hub International (Hub) has announced the acquisition of the assets of William R Cargill Insurance Agency, Inc (Cargill Insurance). Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Cargill Insurance, located in Topsfield, Massachusetts, is a family-owned full-service insurance agency that offers a variety of personal coverage options including home, auto, personal umbrella, boat, and life insurance, in addition to commercial and general liability insurance.

As part of the acquisition, founder William Cargill, Jr. and the Cargill Insurance team will integrate into Hub New England.

“We are excited to welcome Bill Cargill and his team to the Hub family,” Timm Marini, president of personal lines insurance at Hub New England said. “Bill’s energy, enthusiasm and ethics are infectious. This partnership complements our commitment to deliver exceptional products, service and value to our customers.”

Following the acquisition, Cargill Insurance will operate under the name William R. Cargill Insurance Agency, a Hub International company.

Hub International provides risk management, insurance, employee benefits, retirement, and wealth management products and services. It has a workforce of more than 17,000 employees and offices throughout North America.

This latest transaction follows another for Hub International, with the firm also expanding its geographical reach in the Northwest region with its acquisition of the assets of Pollock Insurance, Inc.

April also saw a deal for Florida-based insurer Sales Insurance Agency (Sale Insurance), a boutique, family-owned and operated independent insurance agency. It provides commercial insurance for businesses as well as high net worth personal insurance for its private clients.

In other recent developments for the Chicago-based brokerage, Hub International has also entered into a new partnership agreement with Distinguished Programs to serve as the preferred provider for the New England Museum Association (NEMA).
