GEICO has opened its first office on Long Island, according to a report by the Long Island Business News.
GEICO is New York’s large auto insurer, controlling more than 16% of the market – but until now had no local offices in the New York metropolitan area, LIBN reported.
“GEICO has a major presence right here on Long Island,” Cary Nichols, who will head up the new office, said in a statement. “Our office looks forward to bringing GEICO’s competitive rates with a personal touch to this extensive customer base, and serving as a one-stop shop for all their insurance needs.”
Seven agents will work at the Long Island office, according to LIBN. The company’s only other local agent has an office in Yonkers, N.Y.
