Hartford Business reports that part of the company’s hiring strategy and social responsibility initiatives is to hire military veterans to help them become productive as they transition back to civilian life. The program has also gone on to include the family members of these veterans. The company has already hired 3,100 veterans since 2014, and aims to double the number by next year.
According to an archived Combined Insurance statement, 42% of its new hires in 2014 came from military backgrounds.
“We recognize that military veterans have been hit hard by unemployment so we are extremely proud that we can offer our nation’s veterans the training, benefits and career advancement opportunities that are important to them,” Combined Insurance vice president for recruiting Jamie Thomas said in the statement.
