Brown & Brown has announced its acquisition of “substantially all” of the assets of a Tennessee-based insurer.
Brown & Brown of Tennessee, a Brown & Brown subsidiary, has acquired Nashville-based Spann Insurance. The agency, founded in 1951, has annual net revenues of about $3 million, according to a news release. Spann will transition into Brown & Brown’s Brentwood, Tenn., profit center under the direction of Regional President John Esposito.
“Becoming part of the Brown & Brown team will provide our loyal clients and dedicated staff additional resources and new, exciting options that we otherwise would not be able to offer,” Spann Insurance owners Jack Spann, Lee Span, John Spann IV and Gwen Spann said in a statement. “We are impressed how Brown & Brown maintains the same family atmosphere and professional, personal service that has always been our mission.”
“Jack and Lee, along with their mother Gwen and son John, have successfully led an agency with a 65-year history in Nashville,” Esposito said. “We are excited to have the opportunity to bring broader insurance solutions to all of the Spann clients while bringing the strength of the Spann team to our Nashville office, led by Ryan Rothrock.”
