Allstate Insurance Company has announced its intent to boost its sales force in Washington state and Oregon by hiring military veterans – and will award $10,000 for a referral.

In order to recruit more former active-duty and retired military agency owners, Allstate is offering the cash award to any member of the general public who refers an eligible candidate, according to a news release, which is payable after the candidate has been hired.

“Serving those who serve our country is part of our legacy – and our strategy,” said Rich Vander Weyst, Allstate’s strategic deployment leader. “A general founded Allstate, and former military leaders remain at top levels of management. Allstate recently hired a leader to oversee cross-functional efforts to serve military consumers and to attract, hire and develop military, ex-military and veterans for key areas.”

“Allstate is a trusted brand and an excellent wealth-building opportunity for a small-business owner,” Vander Weyst said. “We are unique among all other insurers because the agent owns the economic interest in their business. Allstate agents can sell the economic interest in their agency or pass the business they build on to a family member.”

Veterans can apply to Allstate at allstate.com.
