Insurance companies proved to be among the most preferred workplaces for US employees, according to a recently released survey by
Forbes.
The highest-ranking insurer was United Services Automobile Association, which ranked fifth in
Forbes’ Best Employers’ List, a ranking of the top 500 companies to work for according to employees..
American Family came in at number 301, while New Jersey-based insurer
Chubb took 369th. Maryland-based direct-to-consumer car insurer Geico was pegged at 464th.
Meanwhile, broker Lockton came in at number 85 in the Best Midsize Employers list.
In total, 40 insurers made it onto this year’s roster of preferred employers.
The list is based on a survey of 30,000 employees across the US working in companies with at least 1,000 staff members between September and October last year. The survey ranked the employee’s willingness to refer their company to others as the top metric for measuring desirability in a workplace, according to a news release.
