CEO for QBE Asia
Jason Hammond was appointed CEO of QBE Asia at the start of 2019 prior to which he was the interim CEO. He was tasked to lead the new Asia structure across geographical and functional lines to help create a stronger and simpler QBE, taking over responsibility for areas including China, Hong Kong, and Macau, as well as Malaysia, Vietnam, and Singapore where he is now based. Hammond has extensive experience of managing large teams and a proven track record of strategic and operational management. He began his career at QBE Insurance in 2004 as state manager, and then national manager for workers compensation before joining QBE Australia as GM for the same division. In 2016, he became GM for broker distribution before becoming interim CEO, Hong Kong in 2018. Hammond did his bachelor’s in business and accounting from QUT and M.B.A. from Mt Eliza Business School.
