Jamie Thompson has been working in the London insurance market since 2004, in both the Lloyd’s and company market, developing strong expertise writing and managing a global portfolio across UK, Australia, Europe and Canada. In 2010, he moved to Canada to develop QBE's first domestic underwriting capability in the territory. In 2015, he was appointed director of UK financial lines (FL) and portfolio manager for professional indemnity (PI) and returned to the UK where he managed a global book of PI, FI, cyber and D&O. In 2018, he was appointed director of Canada with responsibility for all Canadian business written by QBE. He moved back to Toronto and oversees the local operations there and in Vancouver. Thompson is also responsible for the book made up of property, casualty, FL and auto – written across Toronto, Vancouver and London.
