Marya J. Propis is the Head of Broker Engagement for AIG's U.S. Commercial group. In this role, she formulates and operationalizes sales strategies to support product, segment, and industry growth initiatives to ensure execution via broker channels. In this Senior Sales position, she is responsible for developing the standards and practices that shape AIG’s market engagement and behavior at point of sale with broker partners. She defines and drives AIG’s distribution priorities including formulation, execution, and administration of all broker sales, strategic and incentive plans. Appoints and manages US team of primary relationship managers (Executive Broker Managers) for largest retail producer relationships, and sets best practices for wholesale broker engagement. Partners with all Commercial business units and the field to shape communications, sales and growth initiatives, including sales training for all AIG market-facing employees.
Works with AIG’s Zone Presidents, Managing Directors, Executive Broker Managers, Client Directors and Business Development Managers to develop, direct and drive effective Sales & Distribution management tactics. Sets performance goals and standards for all broker engagement activities and responsibilities and works closely with AIG’s Client Engagement practice to support client-centric execution in the Major Accounts segment. Responsible for developing and executing initiatives to advance growth product initiatives, including new products and product enhancements. Extensive knowledge of the domestic Excess and Surplus lines segment; Property, Casualty, Financial Lines and Specialty businesses. Collaborates with AIG’s personal lines practice relative to broker management strategies and cross-sell initiatives. Some knowledge of Canadian and Latin American marketplaces.
Marya represents AIG on the Spencer Educational Foundation Board of Directors and also serves on their Executive Committee and as Gala Chairperson 2016 - 2017. Committed to high potential development and diversity initiatives, Marya is an Executive Sponsor for AIG’s Young Professionals Employee Resource Group for the NY Metro area, comprised of approximately 800 members and focused on leadership, mentoring, visibility and networking.
