RSA Group, which last November unveiled plans to restructure its specialty and wholesale business, has announced further changes in line with the move.
The business is part of RSA Global Risk Solutions (GRS), which sees the internal appointments of Calvin Gray and Anne Mehta (pictured) as sales & distribution director and head of governance & control, respectively.
Gray, who joined the insurance group in 2013, is among GRS’s primary market-facing business leaders and will be instrumental in establishing the new sales & distribution function. He takes on his new role effective immediately.
“Calvin’s determination to use data to inform our strategy and drive our business forward is first-class,” commented GRS managing director Tony Buckle. “He will build out our broker and customer proposition in areas where we can truly differentiate and that will stand us in good stead as we reposition our GRS portfolio.”
Mehta, meanwhile, is moving from her lead auditor position in March. She will work with the global commercial leadership team not only to embed risk management but also to ensure compliant practice throughout the refocussed GRS unit.
“We are also delighted to appoint Anne as our GRS head of governance & control,” added Buckle. “Good governance lies at the heart of our business, and Anne will challenge us to maintain that focus as we develop our business, our specialist proposition, and our support structure.”
Another commercial business division – RSA Commercial Risk Solutions (CRS) – also has an appointment of its own. It’s an external hire in the person of Alex Hardy, who will serve as CRS sales & distribution director.
Making the switch from specialist broker-only insurer ERS, Hardy is tasked with further strengthening valuable broker relationships and to lead continued new business growth at CRS. He has worked across the UK, Ireland, and London market.
“Alex is a great fit for CRS, and his track record of relationship management and innovative leadership will be invaluable as we build on the current momentum and create maximum impact in the market,” said CRS managing director Rob Gibbs. “Alex joining the team is testament to the quality of talent that our commercial business is able to attract externally.”
