One of Canada’s largest and most respected investigations and risk solutions firm is losing its chairman, a man with more than 30 years of experience in the industry.
Brian King announced he is stepping down from his position as chairman of CKR Global, continuing in only a consultation role to the company and promising to handle his many long-standing clients.
“Brian King is one of the leading thinkers and practitioners in the Investigations and Risk management space in Canada, and indeed internationally,” says Murray Wallace, CEO of parent company Granite Global Solutions. “Over his career, which has spanned more than 30 years, he built a terrific business at King Reed and Associates (a forerunner of CKR Global), and worked tirelessly on behalf of his clients including solving a number of cases of previously wrongly convicted persons.
“His daily guidance will be missed but we are pleased that he will continue to work with CKR Global as needed going forward.”
For King, the decision to wrap up three decades in the industry was not an easy one.
“Making a decision to step down from a company that you have built from the ground up is not easy,” says King. “I enjoy the work of conducting high end investigations and unraveling difficult cases – and luckily that can continue as I work on special files for CKR. My teammates and friends at CKR Global have been a great source of pleasure for me over the past years but I am now at a stage where I want to perform some significant volunteer work as well as write my biography and enjoy some much needed family time.
“I wish my colleagues all the best in the years ahead as CKR Global continues to grow.”
Robert Burns, CEO of CKR Global agrees that King’s departure will be sorely felt by the company, but was optimistic that the team he has built around him will carry on.
“Brian is the most skilled investigator and dedicated professional I know,” says Burns. “We will miss his leadership of the Investigations business – but the strong team he created will carry on the CKR Global tradition in an able way. I wish him all the best as he moves to a new phase in his professional and personal life.”
