The board of trustees of the Private Risk Management Association (PRMA) has unanimously elected Ross Buchmueller, president and CEO of PURE Insurance, to serve as its first board member emeritus. The designation grants all the benefits of a trustee without voting privileges, PRMA said. The board member emeritus position is a lifetime appointment.
“I cannot think of a better way to recognize the contributions that Ross made to PRMA and our industry than to ensure his ongoing advice and support of the mission of this organization,” said Jim Kane, PRMA president.
In 2013, Buchmueller requested that a group of agents organize a meeting with leading high-net-worth carriers to discuss forming a new industry association.
“Since that inaugural meeting, Ross has diligently provided his creativity, voice and financial support to the trustees and constituents of PRMA,” the association said.
PRMA now has more than 2,000 members who are involved in the high-net-worth insurance sector. It has also developed the PRMA Academy, an educational institution that provides higher learning programs for its members. Members can also take two industry certification programs developed for insurance professionals in the high-net-worth sectors.
“The strides we have made in the last six years would not have been possible without the leadership that Ross brings to the organization,” said Linda Lindsay, executive director of PRMA. “Ross is a creative visionary with the ability to envision and then create solutions that revolutionize the industry.”
