Industry veteran Michael Koller is joining global reinsurer MS Amlin AG (MS AAG) on September 20 to serve as chief risk officer.
Koller – whose credentials include time spent as group risk director at Prudential Plc; CRO, Aviva Europe and Swiss Life; chief life actuary, PartnerRe; and chief regulatory officer, Swiss Re – brings nearly three decades of industry experience to the Zürich-based post.
“I am pleased to announce Michael’s appointment as chief risk officer,” said MS AAG chair and interim chief executive Martin Albers. “With his deep regulatory knowledge and strategic expertise, Michael’s appointment demonstrates our ability to attract the highest level of talent from across the industry.
“I am confident that he will play a key role as we continue to focus on executing our business strategy, building a global, full-service, and diversified reinsurance business, underpinned by strong shareholder capital, that meets the growing needs of our clients around the world.”
The incoming CRO is succeeding Catherine Farnworth, who will remain until September 24. Farnworth is leaving the Swiss reinsurance company after more than eight years.
Albers added: “I would also like to take the opportunity to thank Catherine for her hard work and dedication to the business. We wish her all the best for the future.”
