Brokerage giant Marsh has two new Client Advisory Services (CAS) leaders – one for the UK and Ireland, and another for its international division.
Charlie Netherton, who came onboard in 2016 to lead Marsh Risk Consulting in the UK and Ireland, has been appointed as CAS leader for the same countries. As part of his appointment, Netherton will become a member of the UK & Ireland executive committee – reporting to both Marsh UK & Ireland chief executive Chris Lay and international CAS leader Giampaolo Scarso, who assumes the newly created role after holding a number of leadership positions since joining Marsh in 2007.
Scarso most recently served as CAS leader for the Continental Europe/Middle East/Africa (CEMEA) and Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) regions. In his new role, the Milan-based executive will report to CAS global head Michael Poulos.
“I look forward to working with Giampaolo and our CAS colleagues across the UK and Ireland to develop and deliver market-leading solutions that clients expect from Marsh, and that contribute to their success,” commented Netherton.
CAS, which Poulos described as a critical part of Marsh’s value proposition, includes global risk consulting, analytics, captive management, and claims advocacy support.
“Globally, clients expect us to be able to advise them on the most complex and challenging risks they face,” said the global head. “Giampaolo and Charlie are both talented individuals who will provide clients with access to the full range of Marsh’s solutions and risk expertise.”
Meanwhile Scarso is “thrilled” to lead CAS across Marsh’s international division.
He noted: “As the global risk landscape becomes increasingly volatile, it is critical that we provide clients – no matter where they are based or the risk issues they face – with strategic advice that is underpinned by powerful data, analytics, and technology. This will enable them to make better informed decisions and safeguard their futures with confidence.”
