Brokerslink has announced the appointment of Maurizio Castelli (pictured above) as its new risk management practice leader, replacing the late Jorge Luzzi, CEO of RCG (Risk Consulting Group) and a former president of FERMA, who died earlier this year.

Castelli is the chief operating officer of Augustas Risk Services SpA, a risk management consultancy firm based in Milan. Castelli is also the former director of group risk management at Pirelli and the CEO of the group’s captive. He also served as secretary general and president of FERMA, and a past president and chairman of IFRIMA, the global federation of risk management associations.

“We are still mourning the sudden and premature death of our dear friend and colleague, Jorge Luzzi. Among his many roles and achievements, he was instrumental in the foundation, development, and leadership of Brokerslink’s risk management practice,” Castelli said. “It is humbling to take on this role from Jorge and continue to deliver this important service to Brokerslink partners and affiliates. We will aim to develop the risk management practice further, with new initiatives in the coming months.”

Luzzi was responsible for many initiatives that empowered the network’s risk management capabilities, according to the short tribute posted by Brokerslink on its LinkedIn page.

Brokerslink launched its risk management practice in July 2022, with the aim of bringing together risk management skills, knowledge, and expertise from across its global network of specialists. Brokerslink’s risk management practice includes Augustas Risk Services, B. Riley Advisory Services, and RCG Risk Consulting Group. Together, they provide a range of services around risk assessment, risk inspection, enterprise risk management (ERM), risk analysis, loss control, captive management, and business continuity.
