One Call, a provider of ancillary services for the workers' compensation market, has announced the appointment of Nicholas Mendez as chief executive officer, effective the week of Feb. 10.
Mendez will replace current CEO Jay Krueger, who will step down on that date but will continue to support the company through June 2025. Mendez will also join the company’s board of directors.
Mendez brings over 30 years of healthcare industry experience, most recently serving as chairman and CEO of Innovative Renal Care. His background spans medical products and devices, chronic disease management, consumer-facing technology, orthopedics, and supply chain management.
Reflecting on his tenure, Krueger said that upon joining One Call’s executive team in 2021, key objectives were set to improve service delivery, strengthen financial performance, and recruit a high-calibre leadership team.
“Now that those objectives have been accomplished, I have decided to step away from One Call,” Krueger said. “I’m very proud of what we have accomplished and have confidence in the continued success of the company.”
Rebecca Steinfort, chair of the board, acknowledged Krueger's leadership, crediting him with delivering strong results and positioning the company for growth.
Mendez recognized One Call as a leader in a vital sector of healthcare, emphasizing the company's mission to provide timely care for individuals injured on the job.
“It is an honor for me to have the opportunity to lead this organization. I’m grateful for the work that Jay and the rest of the leadership team have done to position One Call for growth. I look forward to working with the executive team and the talented, passionate colleagues on the next chapter of the company’s evolution,” Mendez said.
“I’m thrilled to welcome such an accomplished, experienced executive to One Call. The Board is confident Nick will build on the company’s strong financial performance and continue to expand and improve solutions for our customers,” Steinfort said.
