QBE North America, a division of Australian insurer QBE Insurance Group, has announced a partnership with two carriers to provide workers’ compensation for the transportation sector.

The firm has entered into a strategic program alliance with High Point Underwriters and Midwestern Insurance Alliance to deliver insurance for workers’ compensation and occupational accidents.

Yahoo Finance reported that the partnership will provide coverage for both drivers and operators, through the same insurance company.

“We have noticed this gap in the trucking market for some time now and are excited to provide insurance solutions to the motor truck carrier that provides a solution for all ‘drivers’ that they use to run their businesses,” Marc Risen, Midwestern Insurance Alliance president, said in the report.

“QBE’s partnership with High Point and Midwestern is part of our strategy to work with established and experienced industry leaders in the management of workers’ compensation and occupational accident programs,” QBE senior vice president for P&C programs, Glenn Skrynecki also explained.

“…Partnering with a carrier that understands the importance of a combined offering…allows us to add substantial value to both motor carriers and owner operators,” High Point Underwriters president David King added.
