American International Group (AIG) has named Ray Hall (pictured above) as head of Western World, effective immediately.

Hall will report directly to Lou Levinson, president and CEO of Lexington Insurance, an AIG company.

In his new role, Hall will oversee strategy and execution for Western World's contract bind operations. The business serves the property, casualty, and garage segments through an exclusive wholesale broker network.

Hall has 27 years of experience in the insurance industry. As national director, he helped reshape Western World's contract bind operations, including initiatives related to product development, underwriting, recruitment, and broker engagement.

Hall, who joined AIG in 2020 as national director of Western World, will continue to be based in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Don Bailey, executive vice president and CEO of AIG North America Commercial Insurance, said that Western World's capabilities are an important part of AIG's North America growth strategy in the excess and surplus market.

Western World is part of AIG’s E&S lines platform, which includes Lexington Insurance. The group delivers non-admitted insurance solutions through wholesale distribution channels.

The company offers products in general liability, commercial property, and garage segments, utilizing its proprietary Western World Integrated Platform (WWIP) to facilitate underwriting, rating, quoting, binding, and policy issuance for wholesale brokers and their clients.

AIG's general insurance segment, which encompasses Western World, reported net premiums written of $23.9 billion for the full year 2024. The segment achieved a combined ratio of 91.8% and an adjusted accident year combined ratio of 88.2%, indicating effective underwriting performance. AIG's overall underwriting income for the year was nearly $2 billion.

Earlier this year, AIG also announced the election of tech veteran Juan Perez to its board of directors.

Perez, elected as an independent director, is executive vice president and chief information officer at Salesforce. His experience is more than three decades long, with a focus on artificial intelligence, data strategy, and digital transformation.
