Venbrook Group has been appointed as a managing general agent (MGA) for Crum & Forster’s accident & health (A&H) division.
Under the new agreement, Venbrook has launched its first international travel practice, which will be led by Curt Carlson as senior vice president and Eric Adair as vice president. Adair will report to Alison Myers (pictured above), executive vice president and head of retail benefits.
The international travel practice is the first program introduced under the new partnership and marks Venbrook’s first direct-to-consumer product. The initial launch includes two plans designed for non-US citizens traveling to the United States: Venbrook Premier - Travel Medical URC (Usual, Reasonable, and Customary) and Venbrook Basic - Travel Medical URC (Usual, Reasonable, and Customary).
Venbrook plans to introduce additional programs in the future as part of its expansion under the new MGA agreement.
Myers said the partnership with C&F’s accident & health division presents an opportunity to develop branded programs that serve clients and their employees.
The expansion into international travel is timely for Venbrook, as the US market has seen notable growth in recent years, marked by the increasing involvement of MGAs.
In 2023, the US travel insurance market was valued at approximately $4.79 billion. In 2024, the market was projected to reach around $8.17 billion, reflecting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.5% to 2030.
Post-pandemic, there has been a significant increase in both international and domestic travel, leading to heightened demand for travel insurance to mitigate potential risks such as cancelations and medical emergencies.
The adoption of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence and big data analytics, has also enabled insurance providers to offer more personalized and efficient services, attracting a broader customer base.
