Software-as-a-service (SaaS) insurtech solutions provider Zywave has hired Martin Simoncic (pictured left) and Christian G. Kasper (pictured right) as chief executive and executive vice president & chief financial officer, respectively.

Together, the C-suite hires bring more than 30 years of experience in the SaaS industry to Zywave, which is supported by Clearlake Capital Group and Aurora Capital Partners.

Clearlake partner and managing director Prashant Mehrotra and vice president Erik Hansen noted in a joint statement: “We are fortunate to have experienced software executives such as Martin and Chris join Zywave as CEO and CFO, respectively, and we look forward to partnering with the company’s broader management team to accelerate the growth of the business organically and continue to propel Zywave’s buy-and-build initiatives in the insurance technology industry.”

They highlighted how the new leadership, combined with Clearlake’s operational improvement methodology, will further support Zywave’s strategic direction.

Josh Klinefelter, partner at Aurora, echoed the sentiment, citing the duo’s credentials: “Martin and Chris each have a track record of leading innovative SaaS companies, which is why we believe they are a natural fit to help Zywave achieve its potential. We look forward to supporting Martin, Chris, the rest of the management team, and Zywave’s many talented employees during the company’s next phase of growth.”

Simoncic previously held leadership roles at PROS Holdings, where he served as president of its B2B business and also had titles such as chief customer officer and vice president of product management. He spent time at Vertafore as well.

Reflecting on his new role, the CEO remarked: “This is an exciting time to be at Zywave, and I’m honored to join the company and lead the next chapter of its journey while building upon Zywave’s track record of industry leadership.”

Kasper, who stepped in as CFO, also has an extensive background in financial leadership, particularly in cloud-based software firms. His most recent role was finance chief at EnterpriseDB Corporation. He also previously held the CFO position at Reflexis Systems.
