Price Forbes Re has appointed Brian Cole (pictured above) as executive vice president and head of financial lines as part of its effort to expand its offerings in the US market.
Cole, who will be based in Boston, will lead the development of the company's financial lines practice, working closely with North America CEO Patrick Rastiello, who joined the firm earlier this year.
Cole brings over 30 years of experience in the reinsurance industry, having previously held senior roles including executive vice president at Gallagher Re (formerly Willis Re), head of casualty at Lockton Re, and head of D&O at Guy Carpenter.
Discussing his move to Price Forbes Re, Cole stated that after spending most of his career at major reinsurance brokerage firms, he was drawn to a new approach.
“I’ve spent most of my career at the big reinsurance brokerage houses and was ready for a new approach. I was attracted by Ardonagh’s track record in growth, handling around $18bn of premium globally, and Price Forbes Re’s ambitious plans for growth in the US, Bermuda, and London markets,” he said.
Rastiello said that Cole’s addition aligns with the firm's strategy to develop a strong financial lines practice, which is a key element of its expansion plans.
“We are hiring top-class reinsurance professionals in the US, backed by outstanding analytics and service model. Brian’s arrival demonstrates that we are a gathering place for reinsurance professionals to provide exceptional client support,” he said.
Last month, the reinsurance specialist announced the appointment of Oliver Waterhouse as head of property facultative, a key role in the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its facultative reinsurance capabilities.
Waterhouse, who will be based in the company’s London office, reports directly to Nikki Melbourne, head of facultative. He will lead the Property Fac division, which is an area of strategic focus for Price Forbes Re.
