Re/insurance group Hamilton has announced the appointment of Bradley E Cooper (pictured above) to its board of directors as a shareholder director by Hopkins Holdings, LLC, effective June 1, 2024.

As part of the appointment, Cooper will replace Antonio Ursano.

Cooper is a managing partner at Capital Z Partners, a private equity fund specializing in investments in the financial services sector. He has expansive board experience with both publicly traded and privately held companies and has served on and chaired numerous committees.

Before founding Capital Z in 1990, Cooper was an investment banker in the Financial Institutions Group of Salomon Brothers, now part of Citigroup. He has also served on the board of the non-profit Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York for 16 years, including three years as chair.

Cooper's tenure at Capital Z Partners spans over three decades, during which he has been an investor in various companies, including Marble, Raze Sports, and Mulberry. His professional experience also includes roles as an analyst at Salomon Brothers from 1988 to 1990.

He holds a bachelor of business administration (BBA) from the University of Michigan's Stephen M Ross School of Business and has been a member of the Ross School Advisory Board since October 2017.

Additionally, he holds a certification as a Certified Hockey Professional from the Business of Hockey Institute.

“I am pleased to welcome Brad to the Hamilton Bboard,” Hamilton chair David A Brown said. “His experience and insights will strengthen our discussions and decisions. I extend my gratitude to Tony for serving on our board and providing invaluable support during our recent listing on the New York Stock Exchange.”

In other recent developments, Hamilton announced the appointment of Wilfred Chin as its new group chief actuary, a newly created role.
