Burns & Wilcox has launched a new product offering through its National Personal Insurance Practice in partnership with Atain Insurance Companies.

This collaboration provides additional capacity for Burns & Wilcox to write more high-value homeowners’ policies across California, Colorado, Florida, and the Gulf and Atlantic states.

The new product also includes an option for contents-only coverage, offering a more complete solution for retail insurance agents and their clients.

Bill Gatewood, corporate senior vice president and personal insurance practice leader at Burns & Wilcox, noted that the product was being introduced at a time when securing homeowners’ coverage had become increasingly difficult, particularly in the wake of the January wildfires in California.

"We are excited to bring additional capacity to the market and offer a needed solution," Gatewood said.

Burns & Wilcox, which is the largest personal insurance wholesaler in the US by annual premium written, plans to expand its high-value homeowners’ offerings further in the coming months. Gatewood added that the company expects to secure additional backing to increase the total insured value (TIV) on these policies.

Atain Insurance Companies, which holds an "A" rating (Excellent) from AM Best, is the insurance carrier supporting the new product. Agents interested in accessing the high-value homeowners product can contact their local Burns & Wilcox office.

Separately, earlier this month, Burns & Wilcox announced several leadership promotions aimed at strengthening its national presence.

Bonnie Steen was promoted to regional vice president, overseeing operations in Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama. William Briscoe and Chris Siegel were elevated to vice presidents, with Briscoe managing offices in Oxford, Mississippi, and Birmingham, Alabama, and Siegel taking responsibility for all Florida offices. Berri Willis also became vice president, continuing to lead offices across the Carolinas, while Justin Dorman was promoted to associate managing director in Charleston, South Carolina.
