PartnerRe has announced the appointment of Gareth Stanley (pictured) as its head of US casualty.

In his new role, Stanley will lead the company’s strategic effort to further grow and develop its US casualty business. He will be based in PartnerRe’s Stamford, Conn., office and will report to Jon Colello, CEO of property and casualty, Americas.

Stanley has 30 years of industry experience, and has spent the majority of his career in casualty underwriting positions in London, Bermuda, and New York. Prior to joining PartnerRe, he served as head of US broker market, traditional casualty, at Trans Re.

“We are excited to have an individual of Gareth’s caliber join our team,” Colello said. “His appointment is one of a number of recent external hires and internal promotions that will further strengthen our leadership position in the P&C market and underlines our commitment to bringing best-in-class underwriting to our clients and brokers.”
