The Liberty Company Insurance Brokers, a California-based insurance agency with offices throughout the state, has announced that it has acquired majority ownership of Mitchell & Mitchell Insurance Agency of Navato, Calif. Liberty will become majority owner joining with several former shareholders of Mitchell & Mitchell, including Gary Mitchell, who will continue to serve as Mitchell & Mitchell’s president.
Mitchell & Mitchell, founded in 1954 by Gary Mitchell’s father, Ed, is an authority on professional liability for doctors, dentists and CPAs. For nearly two decades, the firm has been the exclusive agent for the CNA’s lawyers’ professional liability program in California. CNA is the largest writer of lawyers’ professional liability insurance in the nation, with more than 200,000 attorneys insured.
