The Hanover Insurance Group, in collaboration with its employees, has successfully raised $1.5 million for United Way and various other non-profit organizations throughout the United States as part of its annual giving campaign.
This philanthropic effort marks a continuation of The Hanover’s longstanding tradition, spanning over 70 years, of conducting an employee campaign dedicated to supporting United Way agencies and other non-profits that serve local communities.
The 2023 campaign saw record participation, with 83% of The Hanover’s workforce contributing to the cause. The funds, bolstered by a matching donation from The Hanover’s charitable foundation, are slated for distribution to 73 United Way chapters and close to 1,800 non-profit organizations in 2024.
John C. Roche, president and CEO of The Hanover, expressed admiration for the collective efforts of the company’s employees, emphasizing their role in fostering positive change and strengthening communities through annual donations.
“Together, our company and our employees are committed to building strong, healthy communities. Our annual giving campaign is one way we collaborate to support non-profits that are addressing the most pressing local needs,” Roche said.
“The Hanover and its employees have a history of supporting their community through their annual campaign. We’re proud and appreciative of the impact they’ve had over the many years, helping to provide vital services to so many individuals in need,” United Way Worldwide CEO and president Angela F. Williams said.
In other recent developments, the insurance group published its earnings report for 2023 – a period described by Roche as “a very productive year.”
