A newly formed managing general agency will specialize in providing producers with access to comprehensive P&C coverage specifically underwritten for non-profit and social-service organizations.
New Jersey-based Convelo Insurance Group was established by Josh Lamberg, founder and CEO of Lamb Insurance Services, the nation’s largest insurance broker exclusively dedicated to the non-profit and social-service space.
“Our focus on non-profits and human-service organizations for so many years has allowed us to become experts in protecting those very special organizations that positively affect people’s lives,” Lamberg said. “Convelo Insurance Group will create and package more cost effective and insightful coverage by offering market-driven solutions to producers all over the US who are passionate about delivering extraordinary risk management solutions to their non-profit clients.”
Steven Sims has been appointed president of the new MGA. Sims has devoted his career to developing, launching and managing specialty insurance programs for non-profits, educational institutions, government entities and the food industry. Most recently, Sims served as president of WRM America Indemnity Insurance Company, a specialty insurance provider for educational institutions, non-profits and public entities. He also previously managed specialty insurance programs at Marsh and Willis Insurance Services.
“We are very excited to create and roll out a comprehensive, no-gap insurance program for non-profit and social-service organizations so that brokers and agents throughout the country can efficiently access and deliver with confidence to their clients,” Sims said. “We will take a lot of the legwork out of the buying process for brokers and agents and put together a very cost-competitive package of insurance coverages that specifically addresses the unique risks faced by non-profits. We know that both producers and their clients appreciate working with one insurance provider, and having more time to do what they do best – caring for others.”
Convelo Insurance Group said that it will introduce a complete package of P&C non-profit coverages in the coming weeks.
“Our package includes worker’s compensation, property, general liability, volunteer, professional liability, commercial auto, directors and officers, sexual abuse and molestation, employment-practices liability, umbrella liability, and other optional coverages a non-profit organization may need,” Sims said.
In 2020, Convelo Insurance Group will be licensed to do business with non-profit organizations in 33 states.
