The MJ Foundation, the philanthropic division of The MJ Companies, has published its 2023 annual impact report, detailing its charitable initiatives and contributions over the past year.
According to the report, the foundation donated more than $125,000 to various non-profit organizations across Phoenix, Indianapolis, and Denver, as it marks a significant year of community engagement and support.
Michael H. Bill, CEO of The MJ Companies and founder of the MJ Foundation, looked back on the year's accomplishments.
“The magnitude of our achievements in 2023 is a testament to the power of unity and shared purpose. From completing our first grant cycle to naming three new Charities of Choice, our Foundation reached new heights and grew our impact — I feel so fortunate to lead an organization that puts community at the forefront,” he said.
This past year, the foundation executed its inaugural grant cycle, disbursing funds to three non-profits: Indy Book Project in Indiana, Kitchen on the Street in Arizona, and Teaching the Autism Community Trades (TACT) in Colorado.

Further enhancing its community involvement, The MJ Foundation, which selects three charitable organizations biennially to concentrate its efforts on, announced its new Charities of Choice for 2023-2025. These are Dayspring Center in Indiana, Women’s Bean Project in Colorado, and The Centers for Habilitation in Arizona.
In 2023, the foundation also successfully raised over $100,000 through its annual fundraising event. These funds are earmarked for future grants and to assist local organizations that align with the foundation's core mission objectives: overcoming poverty, advancing education, fostering diversity, and embracing humanity.
Britni Shrout, executive director of the MJ Foundation, highlighted the support from their network and how it helped with their charitable activities.
“We couldn’t do it without the support of our partners, sponsors, and donors who made this possible. Our MJ Foundation committee members and volunteers are truly amazing,” Shrout said.
Looking forward, the MJ Foundation announced that it is gearing up for its fourth annual fundraiser scheduled for this July. Additionally, it plans to launch the grant application process for the 2024 calendar year, continuing its commitment to community support and development.
