Hub International’s new chief legal officer brings a background in private equity-owned companies that should prove valuable to Hub’s owners, Hellman & Friedman.
In this new role, John Albright will oversee Hub’s global legal and compliance functions.
“John’s credentials are outstanding,” says Martin Hughes, chairman and chief executive officer of Hub. “He brings 20 years of legal and commercial management experience in public, private and private equity-owned company and large law firm settings – all of which are tremendous assets to Hub as we implement our strategic product and service enhancements, and grow our geographic footprint.”
The 47-year-old Albright will sit on Hub’s Executive Management Team (EMT) and Executive Committee (ECM), reporting to Chief Operating Officer, Kirk James.
“Hub is owned by Hellman & Friedman, a leading private equity investment firm,” says Kirk James, Hub’s COO. “John’s experience in private equity-owned companies is an important asset for our executive leadership as Hub develops and grows under H&F.”
Albright most recently served as executive vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary for Information Resources, Inc. – a billion-dollar data, technology and market research firm. He has also served as the general counsel for several multinational corporations in complex and vastly different market segments, and amassed a record of building and leading highly efficient legal departments to support a business’s commercial objectives.
Albright started his legal career as an intellectual property and technology attorney with both Alston & Bird and Finnegan Henderson, focusing on complex litigation before state and U.S. federal courts and the United States International Trade Commission.
Albright earned a BME in Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, before pursuing his JD at Vanderbilt University Law School.
