Personal lines insurance distributor Freeway Insurance, which is now in its eighth year as a five-star corporate sponsor of the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation, has announced the kickoff of its annual Toys for Tots drive.
Running until December 13, the campaign encourages donations of new, unwrapped toys at nearly 200 Freeway Insurance offices, including both corporate-owned and franchise locations nationwide.
Cesar Soriano, chief executive of Freeway Insurance, noted: “Over the years, we have collected and donated more than 20,000 toys to bring joy and happiness to children and their families during the holiday season.
“Toys for Tots makes a real difference in the lives of children across the nation, and we are honored to support their mission.”
Founded in 1947, Toys for Tots has grown to become one of the most respected children’s charities in the US, distributing close to 700 million toys since its inception.
In addition to its well-known holiday drive, the organization also runs a year-round literacy program, supplying age-appropriate books to children in underserved areas to help support their educational growth.
Retired Marine Colonel Ted Silvester, vice president of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, expressed appreciation for Freeway Insurance’s ongoing support.
“We are very pleased to welcome Freeway Insurance back as a national corporate sponsor of the Marine Toys for Tots campaign,” he said.
“We are working hard to deliver joy and hope to over 10 million children this year, and with the generous support of Freeway, we will be able to fulfill holiday dreams for thousands of less-fortunate children who might otherwise have been forgotten.”
This year, Freeway Insurance hopes to surpass its previous contributions, as Soriano encourages local communities to participate in the drive. Community members can contribute through any participating Freeway Insurance location.
