Combined Insurance has recently donated a total of $50,000 to two charitable organizations that help US military veterans.
The insurer donated $30,000 to the Washington, D.C.-based Luke’s Wings and $20,000 to Chicago-based Heartland Alliance. The donations are a part of Combined Insurance’s Operation Veteran GiveBack program – a two-week program in which the top two zones with the highest in-field percentage during the last two weeks of the year get to present a donation to a military or veteran-related charitable organization of their choice.
Combined Insurance’s East Zone (territories from Maine to Florida) finished in first place, selecting Luke’s Wings as the recipient of the prize, while the Central Zone (central and southern US) came in second, choosing Heartland Alliance’s Support Services for Veteran Families Program.
“It is an honor to support and recognize both of these incredible and inspiring organizations and help contribute to the services they provide the veteran and military communities,” Combined Insurance vice-president of sales development and military programs Bob Wiedower.
This is the Operation Veteran GiveBack program’s fourth year. Notably, Luke’s Wings has partnered with Combined Insurance for the past four years.
