The charity foundation of regional P&C insurer Arbella Insurance announced that it has raised more than a million dollars over 10 years in an effort to curb hunger across New England.
Arbella Insurance Foundation raised $1,070,614 in a decade for its “Let’s Drive Out Hunger” campaign. That amount was given to local food pantries, soup kitchens and food programs in nearly a hundred communities in and around New England.
As part of the campaign, Arbella would match any of the donations made by independent agents who represent insurers within the Arbella Insurance Group on a two-to-one basis, up to $1,000 per agency. From November 01, 2017 through February 28, 2018, the program managed to raise a total of $129,670.
Some of the food pantries that received Arbella’s donations this year include: ACORD Food Pantry in South Hamilton, MA, Bread & Roses in Lawrence, MA, East Bridgewater Food Pantry in East Bridgewater, MA, Friends of Bourne Council on Aging, Buzzards Bay, MA, Helping Hands Cupboard, Belchertown, MA, Nashua Soup Kitchen, Nashua, NH, Peace of Bread, Whitinsville, MA, Rehoboth Food Pantry, Rehoboth, MA, Salvation Army, Newport, RI, and Worcester County Food Bank, Shrewsbury, MA.
“In our tenth year of the Let’s Drive Out Hunger campaign, it is truly inspiring to see the continued generosity of Arbella’s independent agents and their dedication to giving back to local food pantries and charities,” said Arbella Insurance Group chairman, president, and CEO John Donohue.
“We would like to thank our independent agents who have helped us to reach the milestone of $1 million raised over 10 years. We are honored to partner with our agents in support of their charitable giving, and we are proud to see the positive impact our commitment to fighting hunger has for thousands of New England families,” added Donohue, who is also the chairman of the Arbella Insurance Foundation.
