Allied World Assurance Company Holdings has announced a new partnership with the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF) to establish the Allied World College Scholarship.
This scholarship is designed to support the children of fallen Special Operations personnel, deceased Special Operations Forces (SOF) spouses, and all Medal of Honor recipients through a newly created endowment.
Under the terms of the partnership, one student will be awarded the scholarship annually, covering a portion of the cost of higher education. Eligible recipients can receive the scholarship for up to four years.
Lou Iglesias (pictured above), president and CEO of Allied World, said that the company is honored to collaborate with SOWF to recognize Medal of Honor recipients and special operators who have made significant sacrifices in service to their country.
Iglesias said that providing educational opportunities for the children of these individuals is a meaningful way to honor their legacy.
Retired Maj. Gen. Clay Hutmacher, president and CEO of SOWF, expressed gratitude for Allied World’s commitment to the foundation’s mission. He said that the establishment of this scholarship endowment will offer vital support to the children of fallen Special Operations personnel, SOF deceased spouses, and Medal of Honor recipients, ensuring they have access to the educational opportunities they deserve.
The Special Operations Warrior Foundation is a charitable organization committed to supporting the children of fallen Special Operations personnel, deceased SOF spouses, and the children of all Medal of Honor recipients.
Earlier this year, in an effort to also support veterans and their communities, USAA announced the donation of four National Auto Body Council (NABC) Recycled Rides.
The program aims to provide reliable transportation to veterans and their families, with restored cars to be given to deserving military families.
