National insurance firm Higginbotham has announced an alliance with Marshall Young Insurance, a firm headquartered in Cleburne, Texas.
Higginbotham chairman and CEO Rusty Reid said the company – which is celebrating its 75th anniversary – has seen long-term success due to its focus on careful, strategic growth, seeking partner firms that share its cultural affinities.
“At Higginbotham, we are invested in the long-term success and health of each individual client,” Reid said. “We look for partners who share that commitment, and Marshall Young Insurance is right at the top of the list. Their ability to provide targeted services and specialized solutions for each client’s unique needs is unparalleled.”
Founded in 1965 by Marshall Young as a construction, real estate and insurance firm, Marshall Young Insurance provides insurance services to a spectrum of commercial and personal clients. The firm includes teams with expertise in niche industry clients such as restaurants, propane and fuel dealers, pest control, childcare centers, churches, golf courses, convenience stores, contractors, warehouses, and logistics operations. Marshall Young Insurance also offers an exclusive program for underground fuel storage for gas stations.
“Each industry has unique risks and benefits from specialized insurance insights,” said Jonathan Lee, CEO of Marshall Young Insurance. “At Marshall Young, we have the experience to thoroughly assess each client and develop creative, comprehensive, cost-effective solutions that truly assess their needs.”
Lee said that Higginbotham and Marshall Young Insurance shared similar concerns for culture, client service and community engagement.

“We looked at several top agencies, and the more we peeled back the layers, the more we found we weren’t like them,” he said. “But then we got to know Higginbotham and found their culture and values aligned perfectly with ours. It even turns out we’re both members of the Entrepreneurs Organization (EO) Fort Worth, a peer-to-peer network of business owners dedicated to community engagement.”
The alliance with Higginbotham will give Marshall Young Insurance access to resources including improved loss control, better claims services and contract review.
Marshall Young is the latest addition to Higginbotham’s roster. Last month, the national agency announced an affiliation with Alabama-based WRM Group. In October, it acquired Louisiana-headquartered Bourg Insurance.
