QBE International Markets plans to introduce a new US inland marine product offering by 2025, expanding its specialty portfolio across all 50 states.

The inland marine product will be part of QBE’s ocean marine and energy divisions, which are headquartered in Houston, Texas, and led by Kristina Bush.

As part of the expansion, industry veteran Sharon Primerano (pictured above, left) has been appointed vice president, US inland marine manager for QBE International Markets. She is joined by Tiffany Lewis (pictured above, middle), vice president, marine, and Max Dambach (pictured above, right), underwriter. All three previously worked at AIG.

Sean Dollahon, vice president, US marine manager for QBE’s International Markets, announced the new offering, highlighting the company’s goal to expand its marine and energy portfolios in the US.

“Sharon Primerano is an inland marine market veteran with experience managing some of the largest and most successful inland marine portfolios in the US.  The team is further boosted by the hires of Tiffany and Max who also have several years of experience underwriting ocean marine and inland marine between them,” Dollahon said.

The new inland marine products, set to be available by January 2025, will complement QBE’s existing marine offerings and aim to provide a comprehensive set of solutions for clients and brokers.

Primerano is based in New York, while Lewis and Dambach are based in Houston. All three joined QBE International Markets in late September 2024.

Back in August, QBE announced that it had rolled out a new generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) solution, expanding its application across various global operations.

Initially launched in December 2023, the Cyber Underwriting AI Assistant was introduced to support underwriters in North America, enabling them to review broker submissions more efficiently.
