New executive lineups for the New Year continued this week, as two insurers and a broker made major changes to their respective teams.
Insurance Business takes a look at an executive shuffle at Willis, a North American expansion at Hub and a new chairman for Hamilton Insurance Group.
Willis
Big changes are afoot at
Willis North America, as the global broker announced three new appointments for its South, West and California regions last Wednesday.
Eric Hein, a former Managing Partner with Willis’ North and South Carolina operation, will now be working as National Partner of the South Region. He will oversee 500 associates in 15 offices throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and his old stomping grounds, the Carolinas.
KJ Wagner will perform similar job duties for the 675 Willis associates in 10 offices as National Partner of the West Region. Willis’ West Region includes Arizona, Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming. Previously Wagner served as a Managing Partner in Arizona.
Finally, David Fuhrman will be taking over as National Partner of Willis’ newly established California region. Fuhrman, who previously worked as Managing Partner of Los Angeles, will oversee the company’s 365 associates throughout the state.
All three appointees will work under the direction of Todd Jones, CEO of Willis North America.
Hub International
Hub International is
continuing its shakeup of its North American operations with the expansion of their executive management team.
Marc Cohen, former president for Hub International Northeast, is now taking over as Regional President, U.S. East Region. He will be responsible for the Northeast, New England, Southeast, Florida and Puerto Rico divisions of Hub.
In Hub’s US Central Region, Jack McGrath has been promoted to Regional President after a stint as president of Hub’s Texas operations. His region includes operations in Texas, New Mexico, Financial, Midwest East & West, Gulf South and Colorado.
“We are pleased to announce the promotion of these talented executives throughout the organization and the development of our next generation of leadership,” said Martin P. Hughes, Chairman and CEO, Hub International. “This organizational model will support Hub’s future growth and our evolution as a top ten global brokerage.”
Hamilton Insurance Group
Former Citigroup Chairman and Chief Executive Sanford “Sandy” Weill has taken a new position as chairman of Hamilton Insurance Group, Ltd.
Weill takes over in the wake of Hamilton’s purchase of SAC Re, now Hamilton Re.
Former
Marsh & McLennan Companies CEO Brian Duperreault, who led the purchase of SAC Re in December, called Weill “an icon in the financial-services sector” and welcomed his appointment as chairman.
Weill is famed for his creation of Citigroup through the 1998 merger of Citicorp and
Travelers Group, which faced the legal barrier of 1930s legislation barring commercial banks from dealings with investment banking. Weill was instrumental in lobbying for the 1999 repeal of the legislation.
