Key hire comes on board Aon unit as US yacht practice leader

Rob Carron has been appointed as US yacht practice leader at Aon Private Risk Management (APRM), which is part of Aon Plc’s affinity business Aon Affinity. In this capacity, Carron will spearhead yacht risk management strategies and solutions tailored for affluent families and individuals.

A Marsh and WTW alumnus, the key hire brings 20 years of experience in superyacht risk management, focusing on understanding and meeting the specific needs of yacht owners with customized protection plans. Carron has also been pivotal in developing new insurance products to address employment practices liability on yachts.

At Aon, his leadership will aim to foster growth opportunities and elevate client service by leveraging his industry knowledge and innovative approach. Carron plans to position APRM as a leader in luxury yacht risk management, ensuring high standards of service and value.

With over 25 years of experience, APRM specializes in creating personal insurance programs for high-net-worth individuals and families, addressing complex risks. APRM’s dedicated team of 130 advisors offers tailored risk solutions globally.

Based in Florida, Carron was a founding member of non-profit organization Young Professionals in Yachting. He has also served on the executive board of the International Superyacht Association and is currently a member of both the International Yacht Brokers Association and the United States Superyacht Association.
