Three New Jersey women have been charged in an insurance fraud conspiracy in which one of them allegedly pretended to be a doctor and then charged insurance companies for her services.

Between January of 2016 and May of 2017, Yvonne Jeannotte-Rodriguez saw and examined patients at the Ferraro Medical Clinic in Paterson, N.J., according to a report by NorthJersey.com. Rodriguez was unlicensed. Dr. Lisa Ferraro, who employed Rodriguez, was reportedly aware she was unlicensed, but Rodriguez still presented herself to patients as a licensed medical doctor, authorities said.

Rodriguez and Ferraro allegedly conspired with a third woman, Marta Galvan, to bill insurance companies for services Rodriguez provided as if they had been provided by Ferraro, according to NorthJersey.com.

All three women were released on complaint summonses. The case will be referred to a grand jury, NorthJersey.com reported.
